Talk about going above and beyond... I lost count of how many emails and phone calls went back and forth between Rettew's Catering and I; all I know is that every single one was given a prompt response and every change, addition and question was accommodated and answered. Jeff, Michelle, and Jennifer took so much time to make sure everything was perfect and made every effort to keep within our budget. All of their time and effort helped to create a delicious and beautiful event that ran so smoothly! Just when I thought they couldn't possibly be a better vendor, my venue changed to indoors at the very last moment and they took the change in stride without a single complaint. Our hors d'oeuvres and meals were so yummy, the waitstaff was professional and attentive without being intrusive, and Michelle checked in with us often throughout the evening. They even made sure that the special wine glass we had for the Mother of the Bride was cleaned for her at the end of the night! Not a single detail was missed, and their hard work was evident to all. Thank you Rettew's Catering, Jeff, Michelle, Jennifer and all your staff for treating our wedding like it was your most important event! We will never forget our big day and we have you to thank for that!

Rettew's catered our 4/9 wedding at Mulberry Arts Studio. The entire experience was wonderful. From the initial meeting with Jeff until our wedding reception was wrapping up, we were very impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the excellent food preparation. Besides tasting fantastic, one thing that sold us was that all of the food was prepared on location, not prepared earlier in the day and heated up. Jeff was helpful in recommending amounts and types of alcohol to purchase for the bar and in suggesting crowd pleasing hors d'oeuvres. He was also helpful in arranging our floor plan and creating a flow for the reception. I would highly recommend Rettew's and will hire them again!

As I was planning my wedding from out of state, there were a few initial things I was very concerned about after I selected Rettew's. They weren't going to offer a tasting menu for after-hours or over a weekend, but they did the next best thing and packed a 'to-go' menu that my Mom picked up for me and we were able to warm up and sample at home. Obviously, it would have been best to taste the food as it was fresh and in front of staff, but this was a satisfactory concession. In the days leading up my wedding, I became more and more impressed with the professionalism of the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and checked in with me on details without being a nusance. They worked with our special little requirements - and at a historical building without running water - with ease. Simply put, they just made it work. Food was great, staff was friendly, and I would reccomend Rettew's to any bride!

I planned my wedding in a short period of time from out of state. Needless to say this was very difficult. Luckily, I found Rettew's Catering! Rettew's responded promptly if not immediately each time I contacted them. They willingly accommodated our many special requests and took the time to help me with planning. I almost chose another well known caterer, but chose Rettew's instead because of their personable service, prompt response and reasonable pricing. Above all, the food was delicious! I received a number of compliments from my guests. We chose a buffet menu. Having personally worked in the kitchen of a four star resort, I was extremely pleased with the quality of the food and presentation. During the event the staff provided professional service to our guests and were flexible when we had a small change with our schedule. I would highly recommend Rettew's for your wedding and would hire them again if I were to host another catered event.

Loved loved loved Rettews!! Jennifer is such a pleasure to work with. She did not hand me a list of foods to choose from (like all the other caterer's I met with). She spent time asking me what foods my (now) husband and I liked and we came up with our own menu! The staff that worked at our reception were awesome too!

Delicious food, polite and friendly staff, and cost efficient. Great caterer. The only downside is that we didn't get to sample any food in advance.

I'm glad we used Rettew's, they were very helpful and worked with our economic budget. The food was all tasty, and they let us bring take home containers in case there was a lot leftover. My only negative thoughts were: the starter salads seemed very tiny, I felt like the buffet was cleaned up too early (although perhaps they were out of food by then, I'm not sure), and although the wait staff was attentive I had wished they would've smiled a bit more and seemed like they were enjoying themselves a little.

The food was great, especially the salmon, we had lots of comments about it. The bartender was fun, and I loved the way they set it up. They treated the bridal party great when we were waiting during cocktail hour (providing us with food and drinks) but they didnt have a specified person who served us drinks during the evening, so we had to go to the bar ourselves. I also thought they cleared the tables a bit too early when we still had about 2 more hours of my reception to go. But working with them during the planning was easy and they were really receptive to anything we needed.

I worked with very many different employees of Rettew's. I noticed as soon as I set up a consultation with Rettew's compared with Enck's catering, that Rettew's catering more clearly defined what is typically needed for weddings. I had no idea what I was really doing when it came to the food, so it helped to have someone guide me through the process. When I went to Enck's, it was more like... what do you want to do? I'm the type of person that needs some information first! I was surprised at the cost of the wedding, but the food IS typically the most expensive part of receptions. I thought that the quality of the service was worth the cost, definitely. My bridal party showed up a tad early to the reception site, due to an overestimation of the ceremony length. The event manager was very flexible and moved the meal and other events of the reception forward to account for this period of time. The only thing I might complain about is the bartending and waitressing that we had. Some guests had nearly full beverages taken away from their tables. I heard this from quite a few of my guests. Overall, Rettew's was courteous, flexible, and very helpful in our planning process and wedding day!

I really enjoyed working with Jeff. He was awesome. My tasting was a little tricky; I didn't enjoy a few of the things I chosen originally and they took my opinion and quickly remedied the issues. Jeff was instrumental with my choosing this vendor. He was very clear on what my options were and tried to keep me within budget and kept up to speed. He did several extra time-consuming revised proposals, which I deeply appreciated. Two weeks before the event I had to pay 50% of our balance. I paid in full. Then I was informed that Jeff couldn't come to my event due to other larger event that his talents were necessary. I understood, but I couldn't get a hold of his replacement easily. She was supposed to call me right away, and it took over a week for her to do so. This caused a little anxiety for me. I felt like I had to pursue her like a bounty hunter, but eventually we connected. I really loved Jeff. It was difficult changing hands, because I wouldn't be able to KNOW that every detail was perfectly understood by the replacement (who I can't remember the name of, I'm sorry) who was in charge of my event. Everything was on-point (please see above), but I was a little bothered that I had reached out to her after I was repeatedly told that she would call me. That is why I reduced the professionalism. Also, I did get an email from the owner that I owed them another $98, ON THE DAY OF MY WEDDING, even though I paid in full in my last meeting with them, two weeks prior. I paid early and I was told since two of my guest were vendors those seats were 75% cost, which they had not originally factored into my wedding cost. So, I thought I was going to get a refund. I wanted to know what the additional charges were for and emailed back. I haven't heard a response, but I will call them and get to the bottom of it. I felt it was inconsiderate timing, like they couldn't just explain in a note and send an invoice? I had to pay it, immediately. We didn't bring our checkbook and I was not about to disrupt the day by calling my mom or my fiance to grab the checkbook. Also, I only met her for five minutes, so for her to just email me a bill while I'm trying to get ready for my wedding was nerve racking. The day of the wedding, I loved how quickly they set up and I didn't have to worry about anything on that day. The food was delicious. There were some minor set-backs. I was promised that the caterer would bring us some beverages and Hors d'œuvres right after our ceremony, but we waited for a long time and there were drinks brought down to us maybe 25 minutes after the receiving line. I understand that they may have been unsure of our plans of our photoshoot, but it was a long 25 minutes in the hot sun and I was really depending on those chilled drinks to cool me. I eventually got my promised fruit kebobs, Thai chicken skewers, and scallops wrapped in bacon, after the cocktail hour had ended and I was out on the patio right before our main entrance to the ballroom. I hoovered it, since I barely ate for the proceeding 24 hours. They didn't seem like they were really hot, but I was starving. Again, this is me being picky, but I would have preferred it being served sooner. The salad course was delicious, but heard mixed reviews. Some of my guest had a lot of dressing, some had barely any. This is just constructive criticism that I believe that there was room for improvement. The main entrée was delicious. I heard many people say that it was wonderful. I had the salmon and I loved it. The sides were equally scrumptious. Overall, I would hire them again for an event. They do a wonderful job. I would just hope for better communication and slight improvement on execution (AGAIN, JEFF WAS AWESOME. I had no qualms with him.)

Rettew's was by far the best food I've ever had at a wedding, and most of my guests agreed! Also, very affordable. There were a few negatives though. They opened every single champagne bottle that was bought but did not serve them or tell people that they were available after the toast. I lost several hundred dollars in unused champagne. They also ate some of my desserts, which were provided by a separate vendor. They would not allow us to take the large amount of leftovers, and they separated the food among themselves and took it home. I would recommend Rettew's for the delicious food and large menu selection though.

The food was good. The wait staff drank our wine (which we bought on our own) and got drunk in the back of my grandparents house ...not very professional in my oppinion. They didn't offer to box up left overs (and there was a lot). They almost screwed up the linens (gave me the white napkins to go with cream colored table clothes). It was not a positive experience overall. I wouldn't recommend them to my own friends even though before this I've only ever heard positive things about them. Sorry it's not ok in my book to get drunk off of someone elses alcohol while you're supposed to be working for them (and being paid by the hour for the time you sat there and were drinking - not ok!)
